Blue Cheese lab report

What 288 state lab tests of Blue Cheese flower show beyond a single THC number: the odds of a strong batch, how published figures hold up and how it reaches the shelf.1

Key findings

  1. 91% of 288 lab tests reached 20% THC or more; 68% reached 25%.1
  2. Only one of the 5 single published THC figures sits above the median lab result.1
  3. The highest median THC of 29 strains (25.93%), with the narrowest spread of 24.1
  4. Median THC barely moved between 2018 and 2023 (+0.46 points).1
  5. The 8th most listed of 16 strains in our Weedmaps snapshot (59 store listings).2

How likely is Blue Cheese to test above 20% THC?

91% of 288 state lab tests of Blue Cheese flower reached 20% total THC or more, more than 9 in 10. 68% reached 25%, and none reached 30%.1

Do published THC figures for Blue Cheese match the lab results?

1 of the 5 single published figures we checked sits above the median lab result for Blue Cheese (25.93%).1 The highest figure, Barney's Farm at 26%, was reached by 47% of tests.1,3

Seed-seller and label figures sit close to strain-database figures: the typical seller figure was reached by 91% of tests, the typical database figure by 92%.1

The one published range, Dinafem at 10–14%, covers 2.1% of tests.1,4

None of these figures describes a particular jar; only the certificate of analysis for that batch does.

How strong is Blue Cheese compared with other strains?

By median total THC, Blue Cheese has the highest of the 29 strains in our lab dataset (25.93%), ahead of G13 (24.17%).1 By the share of tests at 25% or more (68%), it ranks first.1

The middle half of its tests spans 2.60 points (24.27%–26.87%), the narrowest spread of the 24 strains with at least 30 tests: results under the name are more consistent than for most strains.1

Does higher-THC Blue Cheese also have more terpenes?

Not noticeably. In the 268 tests that report both, the third with the most THC (26.72% or more) had a median of 1.26% total terpenes, against 1.33% for the third with the least (25.37% or less).1

The pattern holds in Maryland, the only state with at least 30 such tests.1 Total terpenes measure aroma compounds by weight; the comparison says nothing about effects.

Is Blue Cheese getting stronger?

Median THC went from 24.66% in 2018 (64 tests) to 25.12% in 2023 (35), +0.46 points.1

Holding the state fixed tells the same story: in Maryland, the median went from 24.71% in 2018 to 25.12% in 2023, +0.41 points.1

Years with fewer than 20 tests are left out.

In what forms, and under what names, does Blue Cheese reach testing labs?

Of 369 lab results under exactly the name Blue Cheese, 81% were flower; concentrates 10%, shake and trim 4.6% and other or unrecorded 4.3%.1 Only flower enters the figures on this site.

Another 50 results carried a longer name that contains Blue Cheese, 12% of all results with the name in them, led by “Blue Cheese Bubblegum” (32), “Royal Blue Cheese Bud” (3) and “Barney's Blue Cheese Bud” (3).1 Extra name words, cross markers and CBD versions mean these may not be the same plant, so they are excluded (how we match names).

How common and how pricey is Blue Cheese on dispensary menus?

In our Weedmaps snapshot of 27 US markets (Oct 3, 2026), 59 store listings within 50 miles of each market's center carried Blue Cheese flower, in 9 of the 27 markets: the 8th most of the 16 strains we track.2

In Los Angeles, its median exact-eighth price was $18.00, against $30.00 for the typical other strain on the same menus (10 strains priced).2 That makes it cheaper than the typical strain there.

What this data cannot tell you

  • Which terpene leads test by test: only 6 of the 288 tests report at least five individual terpenes; the analysis needs 20.1
  • Which strains have a similar terpene mix: needs at least 30 tests with individual terpene values (6 here).1
  • Lab-to-lab differences: needs at least 3 labs with 20 or more tests each.1
  • A particular jar: lab results describe flower sold under the name across 4 states from 2015 to 2024; only a batch’s own certificate of analysis describes that batch.1
  • Effects: these are chemistry measurements. None of them predicts how a strain will feel to a particular person.
